Rimplas - Structural Foam Moulding

The structural foam process provides designers and engineers with a number of important advantages.

  • A high ratio of strength to weight with excellent tortional stiffness

  • High impact strength and dimensional stability

  • Reduction of secondary finishing operations

  • Integration of functions for simplified assembly

Components can be manufactured with a general wall thickness of 4mm

Mouldings can be manufactured to meet UL94V0 flame retardant specification

Fast cycle times coupled with high definition parts promotes the suitability of the process for medium and high volume production

Generally aluminium tooling is suitable, this coupled with the innovative use of multi-cavity tools opens up opportunities for production of lower volumes

Most thermoplastics can be foamed. Noryl, ABS, Polystyrene, and Polycarbonate are
popular and these foamed versions all have similar shrinkages.

Idea - Design - Prototype - Product - Rimplas will make it happen.
